Combo Sand Washing Plant

A fully integrated, mobile plant that makes washed M-Sand to a consistent specification.

The CFlo Combo is a patented, fully integrated sand washing plant that produces washed M-Sand at up to 350 tonnes per hour on a single compact modular chassis, and more where units are combined. It combines feeding, washing, dewatering and stockpiling with water recycling that cuts fresh water demand by up to 95%, and is available in nine models, in single-wash and dual-wash variants.

World-leading sand washing technology

On a natural deposit the same plant is the core of a sand and gravel washing plant, taking as-dug pit, river or alluvial feed rather than crusher output. The same chassis does the coarse end of the job as well: scrubbing, screening and rinsing the dirt, silt and clay off gravel, crushed stone and recycled concrete, which is aggregate washing rather than sand washing, and the reason a single Combo can send both a graded aggregate and a specification sand to the stockpile from one feed. Proven across hundreds of installations, CFlo sand washing technology helps customers maximise the quality and value of washed sand for construction, mining and industrial sand applications. The Combo takes that innovation and gives it the power of mobile: a compact plant that streamlines sand washing with unmatched efficiency and water management, on a minimal footprint.

The range covers up to 350 tonnes per hour on a single chassis, across nine models in single-wash and dual-wash variants. Where a site needs more, units are combined rather than replaced, which is the point of building the plant modular in the first place. Every plant is Super modular by design: one integrated chassis that ships compactly and commissions fast, custom built for your specific project.

Inside the Combo

  • Feed point efficiency: the feed hopper features an integrated belt feeder for efficient transfer of material to the next stage of processing
  • Cut point efficiency: each patented Combo is custom built for your project, giving efficient control of silt cut points so washed sand meets your specification every time
  • Superior sand dewatering: the Centriscreen Dewatering & Sizing System delivers washed sand that is ready for market straight from the belts, turning product into revenue as quickly as possible
  • Unrivalled control of specification: integrated wing stockpiling conveyors controlled by a hydraulic cylinder let you make concrete sand and plaster sand at the same time

Use up to 95% less water

The Combo integrates CFlo's tried and tested water recycling technology, so you run the latest sand washing technology while reducing your water requirement by up to 95%. Our sludge management technology accelerates tailings drying for a smaller tailings footprint and returns recycled water to the plant much faster than other systems. Easysettle Sludge Bay Manager uses high performance polymer technology to rigidify tailings at the point of disposal, releasing water instantaneously from the treated slurry.

India's major infrastructure contractors run the Combo in fleets rather than singly. Dilip Buildcon operates more than a dozen; GR Infraprojects eleven.

Safe access and automatic operation

There are no compromises on the Combo: you get the same walkway specification as a static processing plant, so your people have quick, easy and safe access for maintenance. The plant is Super smart too, with an on-board control panel in a double door stainless steel enclosure built for harsh outdoor environments, and a touch screen PLC as standard.

Proven in the field

"M sand made from crusher dust using CFlo is superior to natural sand. Results are better. We save 20-25 kg of cement in M45 concrete. The plant looks great. It is the Mercedes Benz of India."
- Mahendra Kumar Agarwal, Director, GR Infraprojects Ltd

India's largest infrastructure contractors and materials producers run the Combo, and most of them run more than one. They include GR Infraprojects, Ultratech, HGIEL, Afcons, Nuvoco, Dilip Buildcon, Oriental, NCC, B.G. Shirke, Montecarlo, Kalyan Toll and V. H. Khatri Construction among many others.

The repeat order is the part that matters. Dilip Buildcon operates more than a dozen units and attaches a plant to each of its crusher installations. GR Infraprojects runs a fleet of eleven across its highway packages, relocating each in about ten days. A contractor who buys a second plant, and then a twelfth, has already measured the first one.

The pattern holds outside India too, with the Combo in use in 20 countries. YTL Cement in Malaysia runs two Combo X70 plants at its Batu Tiga Quarry, converting 0–5 mm crusher dust into graded M-Sand, and Stevin Rock and the Bathwal Group both use Combo technology in Dubai.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What capacity does the Combo sand washing plant come in?

The Combo family runs up to 350 tonnes per hour on a single chassis, across nine models in single-wash and dual-wash variants, with higher capacities reached by combining units. Each plant is custom built for your project and feed material, so the silt cut point and product gradation match your specification from day one rather than being tuned by trial and error on site.

Can the Combo process mining overburden and quarry by-products?

Yes, where the material is essentially rock and sand: weathered sandstone, crushed waste rock or scalping rejects that need washing, grading and dewatering to reach a sand specification. Clay carried as ultrafines washes out on a Combo circuit. Where the clay is bonded to the stone the bond has to be broken by attrition first, which is Reurban duty rather than Combo. A testwork programme on your own sample settles which.

How much water does a Combo sand washing plant use?

Up to 95% less than conventional washing. The Combo integrates CFlo's proven water recycling technology on the same chassis, and the Easysettle Sludge Bay Manager releases water from tailings instantaneously so recycled water returns to the plant faster than other systems. That also shrinks your tailings footprint and settling pond requirement.

Can the Combo make concrete sand and plaster sand at the same time?

Yes. Integrated wing stockpiling conveyors controlled by a hydraulic cylinder give you unrivalled control of sand specification, letting one Combo produce concrete sand and plaster sand simultaneously. The Centriscreen Dewatering & Sizing System delivers both products ready for market straight from the belts.

How much does M-Sand from a Combo cost to produce?

Production cost depends on your feed material, power cost and scale, but the benchmark is strong: a highway contractor running a Combo fleet produces IS 383 compliant M-Sand at around Rs 550 a tonne, against roughly Rs 2,000 a tonne for natural sand. Talk to us with your feed details for a project-specific number.

How is the Combo different from a bucket-wheel or screw washer?

Screw and bucket-wheel washers give you little control over the silt cut point, so fines and quality drift with the feed. The Combo controls the cut point precisely, dewaters sand to market-ready moisture straight off the belt, and recycles up to 95% of its water. Zeal Alliance replaced a screw washer with a Combo X70 for exactly this reason: consistent Zone II M-Sand.

How big is the footprint, and can it be relocated?

The Combo is a fully integrated mobile plant on a single compact chassis, so it needs a fraction of the space of a conventional wash plant and no civil-heavy installation. GR Infraprojects relocates its Combos between highway packages in about 10 days, which is the practical test of a genuinely modular plant.

Which Combo models are available, and what capacity does each run?

Nine models. The X series is single wash; the Alpha, Turbo, Multi and Mega are dual wash. Each plant is custom built around your feed and product specification, and higher capacities are reached by combining units.

Standard capacity may vary with feed gradation and site conditions.
